★特别忌讳赠礼带有你公司标志的便宜礼物。因为这有义务做广告的嫌疑。
★过谦并非美德 因为美国人把过谦视为虚伪的代名词，如果一个自谦说英语讲得不好，接着又说出一口流畅英语，美国人会认为他是个口是心非，装腔作势的人。所以，同美国人交往，应该大胆说出自己的能力，有一是一不必过于谦虚客气，否则反而事与愿违。
★同陌生人打招呼 我们在路上，电梯内或走廊里，常常与迎面走来的人打照面，目光相遇，这时美国人习惯是目光致意。不可立刻把视线移开，或把脸扭向一边，佯装不见。只有对不顺眼或不屑一顾的人才这样做。美国人清晨漫步街道时，若碰到擦身而过的人，会习惯说一句“早上好”。当然，在行人众多的街道上，不必对所有擦身而过的人都以目光致意或打招呼。
★别忘了问候孩子 到美国人家中做客，他们的孩子一定出来见客，打个招呼。这时，千万不要只顾大人而冷落小孩子。那样势必使他们的父母不愉快。跟小孩子打招呼，可以握握手或亲亲他，如果小孩子亲了你的脸，你也一定要亲亲他的脸。
★莫在别人面前脱鞋 在美国，若是在别人面前脱鞋或者赤脚，会被视为不知礼节的野蛮人！男性若脱下鞋子，就会被当作丛林中的土人一样受到蔑视。鞋带松了，也应走到没人的地方系好。
